The Next Berlin Wall - Policonomic WAR
By: Allen L. Witters
From my viewpoint, I predict the next military wars are not going to be very big, the media may play them up and they may cost lots of money, but the real war is "Policonomic" a term I use for defining Political Economic wars. Politicians worried about their power and money and not the people, I am talking about countries fighting over resources, human and other to help develop their systems and extend their reach. The problem we are facing is a paradigm shift, and the democratic conservative political system we have, does not like change, especially rapid paradigm change.
This is very evident by looking at our basic economics; we now have over 56% of the population on government payrolls in non-revenue producing positions (Federal and state employees, contractors paid by the government, local employees, educators, welfare and Social security recipients and inmates). We have shipped all of our intellectual capital overseas to be manufactured in countries that have a cost of manufacture at 1/10th of what it costs here, without even thinking about who is going to pay for the pensions. We now have over a 14 trillion dollar federal and state government debt load, which is growing by over 1 trillion dollars per year, not including interest.
There are a few countries that are now converting over 3.5 billion villagers in to mainstream consumers with an economic cost basis again at 1/10th of the USA. I can buy a car for $3,500 retail in China that rivals the same thing here for $18,000.
From my vantage point and using my management experience this country is already bankrupt, and is relegated to become a 3rd world economic power. Our politicians do not want to make the changes required and are riding this one out until we run out of gas (no pun intended with the fuel crisis as it is). We have allowed our government or political system to become almost fascist, with a very few elite people in control with their own agendas.
We are worried about putting out a few billion dollars out to our southern neighbors the Mexicans, ones that actually work, and work hard. At a time when we should be economically expanding, reducing the size of government, to control spending and prevent bankruptcy. We are planning on spending several billion on the next Berlin wall. We should take that money, several billion for a fence and start several communities on the boarder to encourage introduction of people who actually would like to work and be productive, start our own low-cost manufacturing cities to be competitive with the rest of the world. We do not need another cold war, even if it is economic and not nuclear driven.
